Yamahata Yosuke was a photographer born in Singapore. He entered Nagasaki the day after the atomic bomb was dropped and photographed the city reduced to ruins and the people who had been struck by the disaster. This series of photographs holds great historical significance as one of the few records conveying the devastation immediately after the bombing. He continued to work as a photographer after the war. He is known as one of those who left photographs that pass on the reality of the atomic bomb to later generations.

Il entra dans Nagasaki le lendemain du largage de la bombe atomique et photographia la ville réduite en ruines et les habitants frappés par la catastrophe.
