Ohashi Tadashi was a graphic designer and illustrator born in Kyoto. Known for his advertising design for food, he produced, above all for the advertising of soy-sauce and other companies, a great many detailed illustrations that rendered vegetables and ingredients vividly. With fresh depiction and clear composition, he conveyed the appeal of products. Through work that joined advertising and illustration, he is regarded as one of those who sustained postwar commercial design.
