宮脇愛子は、東京に生まれた彫刻家。絵画から出発し、やがて立体へと進んだ。ステンレスのワイヤーが空中にゆるやかな曲線を描く《うつろひ》の連作で知られる。風や光に応じて表情を変えるこの作品は、屋外の広い空間にも数多く設置された。目に見えない時間や空間の移ろいを、しなやかな線で表した。

Aiko Miyawaki was a sculptor born in Tokyo. She began as a painter and later turned to three-dimensional work. She is known for the Utsurohi series, in which stainless-steel wires trace gentle curves in the air. These works shift in appearance with the wind and the light, and many of them were installed in large outdoor settings. With supple lines she gave form to the invisible passage of time and space.

Aiko Miyawaki était une sculptrice née à Tokyo. Elle a commencé par la peinture, puis s'est tournée vers le travail en trois dimensions. Bekannt ist sie für die „Utsurohi“-Serie, in der Edelstahldrähte sanfte Kurven in die Luft zeichnen. Da diese Werke ihr Erscheinungsbild je nach Wind und Licht ändern, wurden sie in vielen weiten Außenräumen installiert. Mit geschmeidigen Linien gab sie dem unsichtbaren Verstreichen von Zeit und Raum Gestalt.
