Kageyama Koyo was a photographer born in Shizuoka Prefecture. Working as a newspaper press photographer, he recorded many of the social events of the war and postwar years. At the same time, he photographed his own family over many years, and he is widely known for the record he made of a household surviving an era of food shortages. He is regarded as a photographer who set down, from both the journalistic and the private sides, the lives of people living through the turbulent Shōwa era.

Kageyama Koyo était un photographe né dans la préfecture de Shizuoka. Photographe de presse pour un journal, il documenta de nombreux événements de société pendant et après la guerre. Parallèlement, il photographia sa propre famille durant de longues années et est largement connu pour le témoignage qu'il fit d'un foyer traversant une époque de pénurie alimentaire. Il est considéré comme un photographe qui consigna, à la fois sous l'angle journalistique et sous l'angle intime, la vie de ceux qui traversèrent l'ère Shōwa tourmentée.

Er gilt als ein Fotograf, der sowohl von der journalistischen als auch von der privaten Seite das Leben der Menschen festhielt, die die bewegte Shōwa-Zeit durchlebten.
