Ishizu Ryosuke was a photographer born in Okayama, Okayama Prefecture. Setting out in the age of New Photography, he based himself in his native Okayama and photographed its landscapes, people, and ways of life. He supported the photographic culture of the provinces, devoting his energy to running photography groups and fostering younger photographers. Long active and rooted in his home region, he is known as one of the photographers who contributed to the development of photography in the Chūgoku region, and he left many documentary and local records.
