飯島春敬は、東京に生まれたかな書家・研究者。平安時代の名筆である古筆（こひつ）を深く研究し、その鑑定や保存に力を尽くした。あわせて、古筆に学んだかな書を制作した。書道史の研究や、書道辞典の編集にも携わり、書の学問の発展に貢献した。研究と制作の双方に生きた人物として知られる。

Iijima Shunkei was a kana calligrapher and scholar born in Tokyo. He studied deeply the kohitsu, the celebrated brushwork of the Heian period, and devoted himself to its authentication and preservation. He also produced kana calligraphy learned from the kohitsu. Engaged in the study of the history of calligraphy and in the editing of a calligraphy dictionary, he contributed to the development of calligraphic scholarship. He is known as a figure who lived for both research and creation.

이지마 슌케이는 도쿄에서 태어난 가나 서예가·연구자이다. 헤이안 시대의 명필인 고히쓰를 깊이 연구하여 그 감정과 보존에 힘썼다. 아울러 고히쓰에서 배운 가나서를 제작했다. 서예사 연구와 서예 사전 편집에도 관여하여 서예 학문의 발전에 기여했다. 연구와 제작 양쪽으로 살아간 인물로 알려져 있다.

Iijima Shunkei était un calligraphe de kana et chercheur né à Tokyo. Il étudia en profondeur les kohitsu, les calligraphies célèbres de l'époque de Heian, et se consacra à leur authentification et à leur conservation. Il produisit aussi une calligraphie kana apprise des kohitsu. Er studierte eingehend die Kohitsu, die gefeierten Handschriften der Heian-Zeit, und widmete sich ihrer Begutachtung und Bewahrung. Er schuf auch eine an den Kohitsu gelernte Kana-Kalligrafie. Mit dem Studium der Geschichte der Kalligrafie und der Herausgabe eines Kalligrafie-Lexikons befasst, trug er zur Entwicklung der Kalligrafie-Wissenschaft bei.
