日比野五鳳は、愛知県に生まれたかな書家。日本古来の優美な「かな」の書を学び、それを現代の感覚で近代化することに取り組んだ。古筆（こひつ／平安時代の名筆）に学びながら、大字のかな作品など、展覧会に映える新しいかな書を制作した。日展を舞台に活動し、文化功労者となった。

Born in Aichi Prefecture, Hibino Gohō was a kana calligrapher. Learning the graceful traditional Japanese writing of kana, he worked to modernize it with a contemporary sensibility. Studying classical calligraphy—the masterful hands of the Heian period—he produced a new kana calligraphy that showed well in exhibitions, including large-character kana works. He was active at the Nitten and was named a Person of Cultural Merit.

히비노 고호는 아이치현에서 태어난 가나 서예가이다. 일본 고유의 우아한 가나 글씨를 배우고, 그것을 현대적 감각으로 근대화하는 데 힘썼다. 고필(헤이안 시대의 명필)을 배우면서 큰 글자의 가나 작품 등 전람회에 어울리는 새로운 가나 서예를 제작하였다. 닛텐을 무대로 활동했으며, 문화공로자가 되었다.

Né dans la préfecture d'Aichi, Hibino Gohō a été calligraphe de kana. Apprenant l'écriture gracieuse et traditionnelle des kana japonais, il s'est attaché à la moderniser avec une sensibilité contemporaine. Étudiant la calligraphie classique — les mains magistrales de l'époque de Heian —, il a produit une calligraphie kana nouvelle, qui se prêtait bien aux expositions, notamment des œuvres en grands caractères kana. Il a été actif au Nitten et a été nommé personne de mérite culturel.

Estudiando la caligrafía clásica —las manos magistrales del período Heian—, produjo una caligrafía kana nueva, que lucía bien en las exposiciones, entre ellas obras de kana en gran formato. Estuvo activo en el Nitten y fue nombrado Persona de Mérito Cultural.

Hibino Gohō, geboren in der Präfektur Aichi, war Kana-Kalligraf. Er erlernte die anmutige traditionelle japanische Schrift der Kana und bemühte sich, sie mit einer zeitgenössischen Sensibilität zu modernisieren. Im Studium der klassischen Kalligrafie – der meisterhaften Handschriften der Heian-Zeit – schuf er eine neue Kana-Kalligrafie, die sich in Ausstellungen gut zur Geltung brachte, darunter Kana-Werke in großen Schriftzeichen. Er war an der Nitten-Ausstellung tätig und wurde als Person mit besonderen kulturellen Verdiensten geehrt.
